This weekend, I went to the Bristol Renaissance Fair in Wisconsin. It totally rocked my world and this is why:
1. I made best friends with a zebra.
Like, for real. He gave me a handmade friendship bracelet and everything. Which is a big deal because it's pretty effing hard to make friendship bracelets when you have hooves for hands.
2. Half-naked tattooed men on stilts. I support half-naked men. Add tattoos and stilts and you've got
somethin' special right there.
3. Got to throw Batman weapons at a wall. Yeah, I don't know what they're actually called- Batman uses them, so they're Batman weapons to me. If only that kid was Alfred.
4. Got to throw pirate swords at a wall.I dig throwing sharp things at walls. Except when you miss. Which happened a lot.
5. I finally got to put Dan where he belongs.Strangely, he seemed to enjoy it. Weirdo.
6. Rode an elephant. Yes, a REAL elephant! How awesome is that?? I had to restrain myself from singing "Price Ali, fabulous he,
Aliababwa!!!"
7. Four words: pickle on a stick.Yum.
8. This lemur.Do I really need to explain this? Look at him! He's done. He's so over it. "It" probably being 90 degree weather and people constantly prodding at his cage and pointing.

And with that, I vow to go back to the Renaissance Fair at least once a year, every year, for the rest of my life.

I went to one of those a few years ago near Detroit and it was awesome, but not THAT awesome. Yours was super cool and you got to do all kinds of neat things. Who knew zebras could ever be touched?
Elephants and lemurs and shit? WOW! Sounds more like an Indian bazaar.
Why the hell don't we have a renaissance fair in my area? : ( That looks like so much fun!
I love that you were singing Aladdin on the elephant. Amazingness.
Pickle on a stick however? Hmmm... Me thinks not so amazingness...
Wow.. a pickle on a stick!? Looks like you and Dan had a blast!!
You missed a wall throwing a batarang? Did it come back to you?
p.s., now you see why I prefer riding elpehants to camels... :)
Looks like a good time.
That lemur looks exactly like how I feel this morning.
And now I wish I had included the tattoos and stilts in my self portrait from a few weeks ago.
Live and learn, right?
Renaissance Fairs are so fun! I went to one is Colorado last year with my cousin. There are some interesting people there which also adds to the awesome ambiance!
Oooh I wanna go too!! For a massive pickle on a stick alone.
So tasty and suggestive.
I love it! I think every single one is something I would have loved! Top 2 would be pickle on a stick and throwing sharp objects. I dig thowing sharp objects! ((hehe))
I have never been and now I must go.
I must.
But throwing sharps objects is probably not a good idea for me....
Cute animals (you and the zebra look great together!) and throwing weapons at walls? Sounds like an awesome way to spend a day. I always thought Renaissance Fairs (or Faires or whatever) were just a bunch of weirdos in silly clothes pretending to live in the past. Who knew?
Pickle. On a stick. Who comes UP with those ideas?? But the zebra and elephant are awesome. The lemur looks drunk; I bet there is a miniature paper bag behind him somewhere with a wee empty bottle of vodka....
OMG, I totally would have sang the Aladdin song. NO WAY AROUND IT!
I have always wanted to go to the Ren Fair! one day...
I am impressed you know the Aliababwa song. Very cute.
Holy cow! What a mix of activities. I just want to know who thought, 'pickles' 'sticks' - we must combine them!
